  • Yes, I am alive.  I mean, if you can call life with dial up internet and zero - 1 bars of cell reception alive :)  We've been dealing with sickness after sickness since we left Tacoma - I'm guessing that it's all of life catching up to us since I've been in survival mode getting through everything that was going on with John and then the move.  But, life is good.  We're home, and honestly it feels so much like we never left.  Like Tacoma and life there was just some sort of dream.  Life is still tumultous - we're living in my in-laws' basement, John is still trying to get a job in a depressed market - so on and so forth... BUT, we're with friends, we're with family, we're NEVER going to make a cross country move again, John is going to school (yeah!  4 credit algebra class!), I recently connected with a local coffee roaster who has been given the same vision of using coffee for missions (yes, I dealt with a bit of a pride issue with having to realize that somebody beat me to the punch, but God's work is being done, so I'm over it) and they're interested in working with me in some way (they even call me a 'master roaster' :) ), I got to go to cooking club this last weekend, I've spending all sorts of time with my 'mommy friends', and today I saw the first new leaves of spring, oh, and our tax return is going to be freaking unbelievable!  Anyways, there are many things to be thankful for.  Let me post pictures of two of them:

  • Okay, so, about John.  It was his gallbladder and he had it removed on the 8th.  Everything went very smoothly, praise God!  He still has pain, but that's just from the surgery, the insane stuff that was really messing with him is all gone :)  They said he should be pretty much recovered in 7-10 days.  Yah!

Also, we're moving back to Arkansas and will be there on the 31st.

Aaaannnnd.... hmm... I don't know.  That's life right now.

I had a margarita/chips/salsa/games/girl night with my roommate Carrie tonight.  I'm going to miss living with them.  I think I love living with others.  It's so much more interesting :)  Anyone want us?

  • Update on John

Hey, we went to the doctor on Friday and he thinks it's his gallbladder, he's going in for an ultrasound on Monday to check things out, so we'll know more then.  If it is his gallbladder though it's probably mean surgery.  He's still in a lot of pain, and on painkillers and anti-naseua medication.  He's having a hard time working with and without the medication, so please pray for wisdom for us as we figure out what we're going to do for income.  When I was pregnant with Kate God spoke very clearly to us that I needed to stay at home, but we're going to need to take a look at that again in this time.  If that isn't the answer, I don't really know what is, so just, be praying for an answer.  Thanks!

On a lighter note, I roasted my first batch of coffee yesterday, I decided it doesn't matter, and I'll just post the link to my blog, just PLEASE don't mention arkansas.  I don't want people to know where I'm setting up shop yet.  Thanks:

  • Pray for John

Hey guys, John went to the ER a few days ago with a condition that hasn't cleared up.  We just got insured as of today so we can go try to find out what's going on, but he's in a lot of pain and laid up on painkillers right now.  Please be praying for him, I'll keep you posted when we know more.  Thanks guys.

  • Just FYI, I'm doing a Jami and starting a different in-addition-to-xanga blog.  This one will be solely to talk about my journey in coffee roasting and what and where I'll be opening up shop.  Anyone with business savvy and coffee love would be so very welcome to come and give advice :)  Let me know if you're interested in the link, I don't want to publicly link them for various reasons.
